INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

ATTENTION: This water filter, as well as all Olympus water filters, are intended for connection to water supply networks that are controlled by municipal authorities and provide water fit for human consumption.

Read these instructions carefully before installation and use.
Install the system correctly according to the instructions and keep this manual for future reference.

REVERSE OSMOSIS

REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM (R/O) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Product feature

The R/OLYMPUS+ device passes water through 4 stages of purification and each of the 4 filters it has performs its effective role, so as to retain harmful substances, microorganisms floating in the water, colloids, organic materials, heavy metals, silty sediments with particles, nitrates, etc.

Also, the third stage, the reverse osmosis membrane, is the main filter that turns hard water into soft water by retaining Calcium and Magnesium salts, as well as salt from soft or brackish water, so that unsuitable water becomes normal drinking water.

2. Brief instructions for the water filtration module and its operation.

Stage 1: Polypropylene cartridge (filter).
The polypropylene cartridge retains sediment, colloids, rust and silty deposits present in the water.

Stage 2: A cartridge with reinforced compact activated carbon that retains: chlorine, pesticides, asbestos, heavy metals, chemical elements, while improving the taste and smell of water.

Stage 3: Reverse osmosis filter.
The principle of the reverse osmosis cartridge is to remove microscopic contaminants, calcium and magnesium salts, nitrates, salt from soft - brackish water, colloids, heavy metals, stable soluble substances, microbes and other harmful elements of water.

Stage 4: Activated carbon filter.
This is the final filter that refreshes the water stored in the tank the moment we open the tap to use the stored water.

HOW ARE THE PIPES CONNECTED TO THE DEVICE:

A) Central water supply connection point (red plug)
B) Connection point to the appliance tank (yellow plug)
C) Connection point with the tap (blue plug)
– Back plug: connection point to the sewer pipe of the
the sink, for draining waste water (black plug)

4. Important technical parameters

Clean water flow rate: 150-180L/24 hours (50GPD) (25°C) and depending on the water pressure, the tank fills in approximately 3 to 5 hours.
Suitable water source pressure: 3 – 7 BAR
Permissible ambient temperature: 5-40°C

5. Installation

The RO system must be installed according to the conditions of your kitchen (see image 1).
The most appropriate installation of the appliance is in the cabinet under the kitchen counter (image 1). In special cases, it can also be installed above the kitchen counter or even on the wall.
For the correct connection of the appliance to the water supply, see the diagram on page 3. Also, for the correct connection of the white plastic tube to the filter sockets and to the tap, see diagram 4 on page 4.

HOW TO CONNECT THE PIPE TO THE FILTER SOCKET AND TO THE VALVE

To remove the colored plugs (blue, yellow, red and black): First remove the blue stopper. Then, press inward on the white plastic ring that holds the blue stopper and pull the stopper out. To connect the tube, simply push it into the connector where the blue stopper is located, and then put the blue stopper back in place. To disconnect the plastic tube, turn off the water supply and follow the same procedure as you used to remove the colored plugs.

REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM (R/O) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Faucet installation
The most correct position for the faucet is to install it above the kitchen sink.

Installation of the reverse osmosis membrane: After disconnecting the tube from the chamber cover, unscrew the plastic cover of the reverse osmosis chamber. Apply pharmaceutical petroleum jelly to the front of the reverse osmosis membrane, where the two rubber O-rings are located. Then place the cartridge inside the reverse osmosis chamber and, after pressing it firmly to fit it well into the socket at the bottom of the chamber, screw the reverse osmosis chamber cover tightly. In case of replacing the R/O cartridge, after disconnecting the tube, unscrew the chamber cap and with a tool (pliers or pliers) pull the rear plastic part of the cartridge out strongly to remove it. Then insert the new cartridge, after previously applying pharmaceutical petroleum jelly to the front.

6. Usage – Washing the filters

When using the reverse osmosis (R/O) water machine for the first time or when replacing the activated carbon filters or membrane, empty the water tank once or twice, as the first water is intended for rinsing the filters and not for use. After this filter cleaning procedure, the water produced by the machine and stored in the tank is suitable for any use. When the tank is full, the system will automatically stop working.

NOTE: Every 3-4 months or sooner, if necessary, you can flush the membrane (6) for 5-10 minutes by opening the blue switch (13), which is located at the back of the device, on the sewer pipe.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Reverse osmosis separates the problematic water from the clean water and sends about 80-85% to the sewer as unusable, while the clean water is stored in the water tank (9), which, depending on the network pressure, is filled with clean water within 3 to 5 hours and the system stops working until we use a certain amount of water, at which point it will automatically start working to refill the tank.

7. Support

Replace the cartridges regularly, according to the instructions, to always have the best water quality.
If the cartridges are replaced regularly, reverse osmosis users can enjoy the highest quality pure water. The following instructions indicate the filter replacement periods and should be followed:

1st stage filter (sediment pre-filter) from 3 to 6 months.

2nd stage filter (Compact activated carbon) from 9 to 12 months.

3rd stage filter (Reverse osmosis membrane) from 12 to 18 months.

4th stage filter (Activated carbon) from 9 to 12 months.

The replacement period for each cartridge also depends on the degree of water pollution in each area with pollutants, salts, nitrates, etc., as well as the amount of clean water consumption. So, if you follow the recommended filter replacement periods mentioned above, the R/O system can guarantee you good water quality and purity.

REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM (R/O) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

8. WARNING

1. Due to the different network pressures from one installation to another, the manufacturer advises installing a pressure reducer and an anti-shock valve (available at plumbing stores) before the water filter, so that in the event of an increase in network pressure or a momentary water hammer phenomenon, the pipes or the filter unit do not burst and you flood. When you are away from home for days, close the supply tap to the filter.

2. Please do not disassemble the machine parts in case of leakage or damage to the machine, because it may flood with water.

3. The tank has an air valve at the bottom and you should never remove or increase the air pressure that is available in the tank because the water pump will not work.

4. If the system is not used for a long period of time, you should close the R/O switch located immediately after connecting to the home water supply. The same applies when you are away from home for several days.

5. If the R/O unit remains out of operation for a long time, when used again, you must follow the operating instructions as the first time.

6. Careful handling during transportation and installation is necessary.

What is reverse osmosis?

This is a water purification process in which water is forced under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane that retains dissolved substances. It is mainly used in areas with hard, brackish water or high nitrate levels.

When do I need reverse osmosis?

It is suitable for areas with hard or brackish water, elevated nitrates. For most domestic uses in areas with normal water quality, an Olympus above or under the counter filter is sufficient. Call us at +359 2 492 8764 (service in English only) and we will guide you according to your area.

Is a technician needed for installation?

Installation by a plumber is recommended as it requires connections to the water supply and sewerage.

What warranty does it have?

A 2-year warranty is provided
